Our Approach - Clean Green
Interior Care Recognizes the Importance of Protecting the Occupants that Reside in the Built Environments they are Contracted to Care for. To that end, Interior Care has Developed a Low Environmental Impact Policy.

Interior Care is aware of the growing concern of the effects of caring for built environments. We are particularly aware of the issue of using certain cleaning solutions and equipment and how they may affect the occupants of indoor environments. Many studies have been conducted in the early 2000´s and are now circulated about “Cleaning Green."

The EnviroCare™Program

The CRI Seal of Approval program highlights carpet cleaning solutions and equipment that make the difference between a good job and a poor job. They also determined that not all equipment protected the investment in carpet made by building owners.

In 1995, Interior Care created The EnviroCare™ Fibre Care Program. Its goal is to ensure that the ten-year carpet manufacturer´s warranty is protected using environmentally responsible cleaning solutions. We do this by examining the traffic flow in an office and the types of soiling that are found in the carpet. We then determine the most environmentally responsible way to maintain the carpet in order to create clean and healthy working environment for your staff.

Carpet acts like a dirt trapping filter that, over time, accumulates in the carpet fibre. Our deep vacuuming systems have HEPA filters that lift particulate soil and dust from the carpet and trap it so that it does not become airborne. This helps prevent the circulation of particulate soils through the office.

Commercial Building Maintenance

Deep pile vacuuming will only remove loose dirt and dust, which is not enough if carpet is to be thoroughly cleaned. When sticky oily residues are brought into your home or office, most often on the bottom of shoes, they can trap dust and dirt. When this happens, the carpet needs to be deep cleaned. This ongoing maintenance will ensure that the thousands of micro-organisms found in the carpet and fabric furniture are removed using our restorative cleaning systems.

Interior Care must also assume that there will be people with respiratory problems such as asthma and allergies in a built environment. Our EnviroCare™ carpet cleaning systems use only safe, hypo-allergenic and environmentally friendly materials to deep clean all types of carpet. In addition, all our programs meet or exceed the manufacturer´s recommendations and that of the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC).

“Cleaning Green” in our industry requires a proactive approach to cleaning. It requires the use of products that are biodegradable, environmentally safe and/or derived from renewable plant source.

It is important that you understand that all of the specialty products Interior Care uses to remove stains have low hazard ratings on the Material Safety Data Sheets. Our trained and IICRC professional technicians are aware of your concerns. If you are interested in us using only green products, we will be happy to accommodate your request. However please understand they have limitations in their ability to accomplish a thorough cleaning.

Interior Care´s policy is to, “Clean using Green but keep spots and stains from being seen.”

The maintenance of textile floor covering has only recently been addressed by Green Seal in the new GS-37 and GS-42 and the Carpet and Rug Institute´s (CRI´s) Seal of Approval (SOA) program fro cleaning solutions and equipment. Currently many cleaning solutions are being reviewed for CRI SOA approval and or Green Seal approval.

In addition, the Cleaning Industry Research Institute (CIRI) is also currently investigating and testing principle of cleaning and their definitions.
