Common Customer Questions Related to Scotchgard Carpet and Fabric Protection.....

Question: If my carpet or furniture was protected before do I ever need to apply the protection again?

Answer: Yes, Scotchgard should be applied after each carpet or furniture cleaning. You can actually help boost the protection of specific carpet areas by reapplying the product each time a cleaning occurs. This process of reapplying is highly recommended for high traffic areas.

Question: How many times do I reapply Scotchgard?

Answer: Over time the protection is dimensioned after each deep carpet cleaning and/or extraction. The Scotchgard manufacturer and Interior Care both highly recommend applying protection after each deep cleaning and extraction.

Question: Can you use Scotchgard on wool rugs?

Answer: Scotchgard is not recommended for white wool rugs, oriental rugs, and non-colorfast rugs. This product is safe for use on non-white wool rugs that can be cleaned with water (some rugs may have a "cleanability code" - where "W" or "WS" would indicate it is safe to be cleaned with water).

Question: Can I use this product for oriental rugs?

Answer: We do not recommend Scotchgard for use on oriental rugs.

Question: Will my carpet stiffen from using Scotchgard Carpet & Rug Protector?

Answer: No. Using Scotchgard Carpet & Rug Protectors does not change the look or feel of carpet.

Question: On what items can I use this product?

Answer: You can use it on rugs and residential or commercial carpet. 

Question: How long does it take to dry?

Answer: Under average room temperature conditions (70°F, 50% Humidity), most objects should dry overnight.  Providing for proper ventilation for the product will also provide a quicker dry time in most conditions.
